How Does A Beginner Start Down The Path And Learn To Read Tarot Cards? by Cassy L. Oh, goodie! You've decided to buy your first tarot card deck--I hope you selected a good one--and now you are wondering how the heck to begin. First…don't open the book. That's right. You read that correctly. Do NOT open the book and start reading. Instead, take your tarot deck out of the box and handle it. Don't be discouraged if it feels a little odd to you. Sometimes your first tarot deck is your worst tarot deck. You buy a tarot card deck that looks really good, and, yes, some of the images are beautifully done, but the deck just doesn't speak to you. Or part of the deck speaks to you and the other part does not. For the sake of this article, let's assume you have a tarot deck you love, a deck with great symbolism on the cards, and the tarot cards speak directly to your intuition. Fantastic! Let's begin the journey, shall we. Do NOT open the book. The first thing you want to do is to get a pen and a blank, lined notebook, a big one, and find a nice comfy place to rest for awhile and play with your tarot card deck. You will want to be in a place where you will not be interrupted by kids, spouses, telephones, or the mailman. You want to get quiet and relaxed. You want to be at ease and sort of in a dreamy or meditative state, a state where you are totally alone with the cards and not thinking about something else. Shuffle the deck. See how the deck feels in your hands. Spend time looking at each tarot card individually. (Do any cards jump out of the deck?) Make note of those cards. They could be Spirit already knocking on the back door of your brain and trying to get your attention. You may be balking at this notion right now, eager to look in the book. After all, you purchased the best tarot book out there. You know this because the reviews were so stellar. Relax. You will thank me for this later. This is only the beginning. Great things take time. This practice that I am suggesting will teach you how to rely on the tarot cards themselves, rather than relying on the meanings outlined in the book. This practice also teaches you to rely on your intuition, and it teaches you to listen to the voice of Spirit as Spirit speaks to you. During your journey with the tarot, you will discover that there are many meanings for each tarot card. If you do not first learn to rely on the symbolism and your own intuition, you will inevitably get bogged down and become disappointed and frustrated. You need to develop confidence in the cards and in yourself. As you look at each card individually, make a note of the first things that come to mind. Does the person on the card look happy or sad, angry or relaxed? How do the colors feel to you? What is the body language of the person or people on the card? Did you notice anything else on the tarot card, any of the smaller things that might speak to you? For example, is there a bird in the picture, or a butterfly? What Suit is the card? Is it a two of swords? What do swords mean to you? What is the overall feeling? Does the tarot card in your hands give you a feeling of wealth or opulence? Does the tarot card in your hand give you a feeling of peace and pleasure? Your feelings will guide you. This process may take days, or even a few weeks. That's okay. We're not in a hurry. Let it evolve in its own way. By the time you have completed this project and looked at each tarot card individually, you will have quite a nice little tarot card journal that is unique to you. Now you may open the tarot book. As you start this new journey into the tarot cards, you may want to make more notes to incorporate traditional meanings into your personal tarot card journal. Compare how the traditional meaning of the tarot cards does or does not fit into your own tarot card journal. As you make this comparison, you will learn even more about the tarot cards and about yourself and how you see the world around you. This will help you learn how you interpret different symbols. Over time, your tarot card journal will evolve, grow, and become better and better. Once you are comfortable with your new tarot deck, you may try a spread. The three-card spread is the one I suggest for newbies. Spreads open a whole new window of vision for you. Yet another journey down the path. The key is, don't put pressure on yourself. Have fun with it. Have fun learning. It's a process, but it is very rewarding.
I'm Not Afraid Of The Tarot Court Cards Anymore; You Don't Have To Be Either by Cassy L. I think every tarot card reader has been frustrated by the appearance of court cards in a tarot spread. Some tarot card readers refuse to use them at all. I have also at times been frustrated. In fact, I used to hate seeing the court cards. That was until I realized that sometimes you just have to throw tradition out the window and see the court cards in the tarot deck from a different perspective. I think the biggest problem with the tarot court cards is the fact that there are too many books out there expressing too many different meanings for the court cards. This card means a dark haired woman is going to enter your life, that card means an authority figure sweeps into your life and offers you assistance. This card means that you need to look at these personality traits in yourself, or that card means you need to use the personality traits of that particular tarot card to move things forward again. On an on it goes. The harder you try, the worse it seems to get. As frustrating as they are, the tarot court cards can offer you important information. So, don't be too hasty to ignore them. Before you toss your tarot court cards into the trash can, let me offer you one vital bit of truth. Relax. That's the first key. This isn't a test. Tarot card reading is all about how Spirit speaks to you through symbolism. It's important to remember that symbols mean different things to different people. Sometimes the traditional meanings do not fit into your personal interpretation of symbolism. And sometimes the traditional meanings of the tarot cards do not fit into the way Spirit speaks to you personally. I'll even take that a step farther and say that sometimes the traditional meanings of the tarot court cards don't fit into a particular tarot spread in a way that will answer the client's question. If you don't start looking at the court cards from a fresh angle and allow them to speak to you in new ways, your reading may go drastically askew. Now that you know this, you can look at the tarot court cards in a whole new way. But before we become so bold as to call this your way, you must learn to trust what Spirit is telling you. Don't fall victim to adhering to tradition. Tradition can be a stumbling block for even the most seasoned tarot card readers. If you let traditional meanings rule your tarot card reading, you ignore your intuition. This is not what tarot card reading is truly about. Tarot cards are a way to open the channels to your own spirit and intuition. Each time a tarot court card appears in a spread, it may have a different message for the client, or for you if you are doing a spread for yourself. You must tap into your intuition and allow Spirit to send that message through you, even if it seems a little bit different every time the same court card appears. One tarot spread may be right on target if you go by the traditional meaning, while the next spread may buck tradition and speak something else entirely. Some tarot spreads may become a blending of traditional meanings and the voice of intuition. The important thing is to maintain that connection to the voice of your intuition. Just say what the card is telling you at the time, no matter how much it seems to go against tradition. Trust your gut. Some helpful ways to become friendlier with the court cards in your tarot deck is to handle your cards often. Draw out the court cards and study them. Really look at the images and try to determine what they are saying to you. Each time you study the tarot court cards, write down anything that immediately comes to mind. Writing helps you to learn and remember faster and better. In writing out your thoughts, you are expanding your awareness and growing your level of self-confidence. Open yourself to trust. And as always, enjoy the path.
There is a Difference Between Reading Tarot Cards by Rote Memory Or Intuitive Interpretation by Cassy L. For centuries, millions of people have sought divinatory resources to help them find answers to life questions. Everyone born into this world has a life path. At times circumstances cause us to stray from that path. Sometimes we need help from spirit to help us find the path again. Some circumstances in our lives spin us out of control and leave us floundering, wondering, seeking. That is when we often turn within, seeking answers from our own soul to guide us in times of distress. For ages, Tarot reading has been the number one divinatory choice for people seeking such guidance.
There is a difference between reading cards by rote memory and intuitive interpretations of the cards. There are many computer generated and automated tarot readings available to the curious. However, computer programs do not have life experience to draw from, and computer programs do not read cards intuitively. Truly, the answer the questioner seeks lies within his or her own soul. The cards only show us what spirit already knows. Unfortunately, life can be so hectic that we forget to listen to our inner guide. We do not have the ears to hear. That is where tarot can help, by unlocking the psyche and allowing spirit to speak through these timeless symbols. Tarot reading offers guidance for all life situations. But the questioner must remember that all life is choice. All outcomes can be changed by the questioner's own desires and actions. Every reading offers insight, guidance, support, and draws the questioner's awareness to important aspects of life situations. But no divinatory method should be viewed as the absolute right answer to any puzzle. The tarot simply offers choices, possible obstacles that one may need to be aware of, and possible solutions. No reading should be construed as medical advice or a psychological evaluation. Spirit is beyond the body. When a questioner receives a reading, it is important that the questioner also listen to his or her own inner wisdom and intuition as the reading is given. No tarot reader should be viewed as wiser or better than the questioner. The tarot reader simply helps the questioner see the guidance being offered by spirit.
How Does A Newbie Choose A Tarot Card Deck? by Cassy L. Let's face it, there are so many tarot card decks out there. With so much to choose from, it can be difficult for a beginning tarot card reader to select a deck that is right for them. After all, you want to learn how to read the tarot cards accurately. But how do you figure it all out when each tarot card deck seems to have vastly different artwork and symbolism? Some tarot card decks look like nothing more than some paint swirls and geometric designs on card paper. How do you read those tarot cards? Some tarot card decks can be stunningly beautiful. It is these beautiful, artistic decks that you want to hold and touch and look at more frequently. Unfortunately, some of these beautiful decks do nothing to unlock your psyche and open up the channels to your intuition, and you flounder and fail in your attempts to do a reading with one of these tarot decks. I believe it is important to select a tarot card deck that feels right to you, with the emphasis on the word feels. It is important to have a tarot deck that you are comfortable with, and that the symbols resonate with you personally. Ideally, you want a tarot deck that speaks to you, a deck that speaks directly to your intuition. Having said that, I believe all newbies to the tarot should learn the symbolism of the Rider-Waite deck. This deck and its symbolism will take you far into the future of your path with the tarot, and it will serve you well. The traditional symbols on the Rider-Waite deck easily and immediately offer the tarot card reader a visual explanation of what the card represents. Aesthetically speaking, I personally dislike the Rider-Waite deck. However, I've use the Rider-Waite deck often. Other decks may be beautiful, but some decks are just too darn difficult to fathom. The artists of some of these tarot card decks seem to have veered too far into their own personal symbolism rather than offering some of the more traditional symbols, which means that you have to rely on the accompanying book in order to read these tarot cards. In any case, choose a deck that speaks to you, a deck that you love to hold in your hands and look at, but do take the time to learn the symbolism on the Rider-Waite tarot deck. Here are some things to look for in a deck. Do the tarot cards comfortably fit your hand? Do the colors on the tarot cards make you feel good? (If you don't like the deck, you won't want to handle it as often as you need to.) Do you like the artwork on the cards? Look at each tarot card individually and try to determine if the symbols speak to your intuition. Do the symbols have meaning for you? Are the symbols easy for you to understand and divine? And don’t forget the most obvious: can you comfortably shuffle the deck? Some of the more popular choices are the Rider-Waite, the Universal Waite, and the Gilded Tarot. Of these three, the most beautiful deck is the Gilded Tarot. But I must say, my personal recommendation is The Pictorial Key Tarot deck by Lo Scarabeo. This is by far the best deck currently available. If you become a tarot card collector, there are many more decks you will want to examine before you make your ultimate decision. Eventually, you will find your deck. Enjoy the path. Copyright 2008 Cassy's Tarot ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Cassy L. is a professional tarot card reader for Cassy's Tarot. Red Headed Giants Found in Indian Land Nevada by Ragnar Storyteller Red Headed Giants in Nevada When you read these articles you do not have to believe or disbelieve them. Go to the Net and find out for yourself. There is so much information and artifacts proving that the Vikings were here in 1000 AD that you wonder why it is being hidden from us. Go find out. All I can do is point you in the right direction. Legends of the Piute Indians of Northwest Nevada were recorded in 1883 in the "Life Among the Piutes", by Sarah Winnemucca Hopkins. Legends of Red Haired Giants and Runic Mysteries inscribed on rocks. The Museum of the American Indians, pooh poohed the evidence. Part of the evidence: a skeleton nine feet tall found in a cave near Pyramid Lake. One eight and one half feet in the Humboldt lake bed. One seven feet, seven inches on the Friedman Ranch. One Nine and one half or possible ten feet in a lake near Troy. They may not be Giants but they are definitely Vikings. Vikings mated alpha males with alpha females to produce the Giant sized warriors. They traveled and explored in small groups of about thirty warriors. They used their narrow dragon ships to travel the rivers inland. Thirty men were enough to portage their ship across land. That is why we only find one skeleton at the time of these exploring Vikings. By the way the hair of the mummies found in the Ried collection is a Reddish-Brown color. There is an obvious lack of interest in determining facts about the Red-Haired Giants. In the Lowic Museum of Anthropology, in Berkly California the giant mummies talked about in this article were sent and have disappeared. Only three mummies all under six feet are on exhibition. What happened to the Red Headed Giants? What is going on?
Hidden Viking History White Indians in Michigan by Ragnar Storyteller Rune Mysteries Michigan White Indians Michigan is full of Viking Artifacts dating back to 1000 AD. In 1876, Johan Bauer from the village of Wallsange, Sweden went in search of the "Rings and Runes of Kolberg." He found them and started his life long quest for rune mysteries. In 1891, he emigrated with his parents to America where he became editor of a Swedish language newspaper in Ashland, Wisconsin. One day, an Indian came into the office asking to buy a subscription. Bauer thought if was a joke. The Indian told him several Indians in the area were descendants of White men. The Indian spoke several Swedish words that peaked his interest. Bauer recorded the Indian's story in a 63 page booklet in 1930. The title was "Viking Mettles". The story of the coming of the White men, with their Rune Mysteries to America in 1010 AD. The Indians said the white men wore "ice" (armor and helmets.) The Indians uttered strange words (Swedish) and wore Runic Charms to ward off evil. Where else could these Indians have learned Swedish words except from the Vikings themselves. The coming of the Vikings in 1010 AD is told in dozens of legends and folk tales from the old men of the Chippewa, Menominee, Choctow and Arapahoe. Why are American historians reluctant to write about these Indian legends. In 1969, a hunter and five friends went hunting in Lake Country Michigan, near the Town of Baldwin. One of the hunters slipped while coming down a slope. He fell through a covering of sod and stones that laid over a roof of rotting logs. It was a room about eight feet square. The floor had fire rings filled with carbon. There were conical piles of rocks, cairns, next to the pit, inscribed with runes. Betty Sodders in her book “Michigan Pre-History Mysteries reported other similar runes in the upper peninsula. This is just the tip of the iceberg. I hope you will join with us and surf the net for more Hidden Viking History.
Rune Mysteries Vikings In America 1010AD by Ragnar Storyteller America's Nordic Heritage There exists an encyclopedia of Norse anti-facts, locations of Archaeological sites, Historical accounts, maps and testimonials that document the existence of vast Viking Settlements in North American Colonies prior to Columbus. The elitist Academicians and satirizing editors of the Smithsonian Institute, as well as the bureaucrats at the National Endowment of the Humanities have hidden them from us. The National Geographic is also guilty of false publications regarding the discovery of America. Where ever the Vikings went, they left the Rune Mysteries. The records of Viking explorations from Iceland and Greenland penetrating far into America is clearly remarkable. The Vikings imported furs, lumber, ivory, oil, wine and fish back to the European markets. Those Viking Colonies are clearly marked on medieval maps. Vineland, Norvera, Greenland Province, Venteland, Wineland and Suinlandia!. In the 16th Century the land of Vinland extended from the Gulf of the St. Lawrence to Florida. It was known as Norumbega, the "Northern Settlement." Norse artifacts extended far into the interior to Minnesota and the Dakotas. W.R. Anderson, president of the Leif Ericson Society, and editor - in chief of "Vikingship Journal" lives in Evanston, IL. Look him up on the net, to read more about our "Forgotten History." Anderson does not own a PHD nor is he recognized as a Historian or an Anthropologist. Just dedication to the perseverance of our Nordic-Viking heritage. Who were the first Americans and where did they come from? Answers to this question have taken us back to 100,000 B. C.?? But we do know that Eric, The Red, Thornaldson, born in Norway was banished to Iceland. In 982. He discovered Greenland. There were no Jails in Norway or Iceland, Punishment for manslaughter was banishment. Eric followed in the wake of his cousin, Gunnbjorn Ulfson, who found Islands west of Iceland. Eric sailed further and found a large island and called it Greenland to attract other Vikings. One of the later Greenlanders, Bjarni Herjulfson was blown off course and saw the American continent. He reported back to Eric. In 1003, Lief Ericson recalled Bjanni's tale of land to the west and brought his ship. Eric did not go because of his superstitious nature. On the way to the ship his horse stumbled throwing Eric to the ground. He viewed it as a 'Bad Omen' and stayed home. Leif sailed to what is bow known as Cape Cod on September 1, 1003. The Vikings landed and discovered America. Lief's brother arrived in 1005 and explored as far south as Florida. He stopped near Savannah GA. and wanted to establish a colony. But he was killed by Indians by the Savannah River. Where ever the Vikings went, you can find artifacts of Rune Mysteries. The Healing Power of Past Lives by Michelle Beaudry As seen on Oprah on May 14 and June 17, 2008, experiencing your past lives may resolve the issues you face in this one. And this holds true whether past lives are real or not. No one can absolutely prove the de facto reality of past lives, yet even when they are metaphors created by your imagination, they routinely point the way to the resolution of your problems. And that makes them worth doing. Let us use Oprah's May 14th example of the funeral director whose issues with his sister leaped forward in a wondrously positive way after his regression work with Dr. Brian Weiss. The tears shed by the director over the events of a past life during which he recognized his sister as a rape victim that he could not save, resulted in a change of heart for him. The contention between them lessened, and his current life eased. He got results. His life improved. This means that even if he imagined the whole thing, he still got the exact help he needed. The experience resolved his issue, and he was extremely grateful to Oprah, the hypnotist, and everyone involved. My years of helping people using past lives, among other equally effective techniques, allows me to assure you that if nothing else, experiencing past lives has one grand, categorial positive benefit for every single person who does it: it makes you stop taking your current life so personally. And if you do indeed take your life too personally, like overreacting to everything that happens, then past life regression can help you. Right now. Today. Are you a drama queen? Are you forever fighting with family, friends, neighbors, exlovers, or coworkers? Do other people roll their eyes when you walk into the room? Then maybe it is time that you engaged in a little healthy detachment from your real life soap opera. Maybe it is time you stopped spinning and started forgiving. Maybe past life regression is perfect for you. Think of past life work as a trip to your personal spiritual library, a serious personal search for deeply emotional data, a means of getting information that will expressly help you understand your situation with greater compassion for everyone involved. The simple truth is that you may simply be so overwhelmed with emotion every day that you can not answer the basic question of why your life is the way it is. And whether past lives are real history, metaphorical projections, or imagined fantasies, they are point blank insightful. You will learn from them, because you and you alone are responsible for what they reveal. As seen on Oprah, the hypnotist never tells you where you are or when, you tell us. We hypnotists never fill in your blanks, we listen and prompt for greater detail. You are in charge of your session. We just help you get to the answers you seek. And, for the record, over the years of my professional practice, I have seen a remarkable occurence over and over: some of my clients with no belief at all in past lives have spontaneously found themselves experiencing exactly that, a past life, upon being instructed to go to the origin of their issue. And this without the subject of past lives having ever come up beforehand between us at any time. Startling, yes, but quite true. Past life regression work can easily be done by telephone. Surprised? If so, you might believe the myth that the hypnotic state is created using the eyes. It is not. Kindly dismiss all those ill-informed Hollywood films, as not one of those ridiculous movies has ever accurately portrayed what clinical hypnosis is, how it works, or why. The plain truth is that hypnosis is primarily induced through the hypnotist's voice, so it makes no difference whether their office happens to be right up your street. Your friendly neighborhood past lives specialist is only a phone call away. You can get the answers you seek in just a few sessions, maybe in just one. Consider visiting a few of your past lives. As Dr. Oz noticed, it just might improve your current one.
Meet Your Spirit Guides and Angels by Michelle Beaudry Questions About Your Life Path You need to know whether you are following your right life path, that your decisions are in keeping with your best and highest good, and that the spirit guides that you feel around you are really real. You want to speak with them directly, see what they look like, find out their names, and ask a bucketful of heartfelt questions. With the help of a spiritual hypnotist, all this is easily done. Here are a few pointers to help you make it happen. Your Guides Love You Your guides nudge you from time to time, registering as intuition or deja vu. They are that gut feeling that lets you know to embrace a situation or run away. They are the so-called imaginary friends you had as a child who came to play with you when you needed to not feel so lonely. Now that you are an adult, the clarity of their communication can become cloudy when you are spinning with emotional duress. Sometimes when you need them the most, you may feel the least receptive to their help. Please understand that this phenomenon generates from the human side only. Your guides always desire to help you. When you are ready to open a crystal clear channel of communication, they are right there with bells on. They love you. That is their job. From Angels to Zoo Animals You may be pleased to know that angels prevail as spirit guides, and your odds of having several angels looking out for you is high indeed. Keep an open mind when meeting your spirit guides for the first time. In years of helping clients meet their guides through hypnosis, I have known spirit guides to appear as angels, pulsing lights, councils of twelve in white robes, two and four footed animals, alien life forms, and every description of human being imaginable, and so forth. Your guides may be a he, she, it, or they. Having a small group of several guides is common, yet you might have only one. No matter what visual form your guides take, they can and will readily communicate directly with you. Your Options You can visit a psychic reader and have her describe your guides to you, and she'll be happy to deliver messages back and forth, since the reader, not you, experiences them directly. With hypnosis, you have direct communication. Or you can use methods that include years of meditation, near death experiences, and highly illegal non-prescription drugs. Do you have years at your disposal to learn meditation, or do you want answers now? Do you really want to tempt death? Do you trust hallucinogenic street drugs? I assure you, there is a better, safer option, and that is hypnosis. Follow instructions, and it can all be done in an hour or two. Hypnosis 101 Not believing in hypnosis is like not believing in Tuesday or February. You already go into trance every time you watch a tv show that you like, or read a book that you like, or see a film that you like, or, well, you get the idea. You already go into trance when you sit down to read your email for 10 minutes, and suddenly an hour and a half has passed. You already go into trance when you fall in love or make love. It is like daydreaming to the tenth power. No one can make you go there, just as no one can make you like a movie. When you do like a movie, you naturally enter into a light state of hypnosis. The state deepens when you love that movie. But when you do not like that movie at all, it is exactly because it does not entrance you. Point being, you already love hypnosis, my friend. You spend good money on it. Seen your cable bill lately? What Hypnosis Is Not It is not what Hollywood has told you. Sadly, there has never been a single film or television show that accurately portrays how hypnosis actually works. No one controls you in hypnosis any more than they do when you daydream. Hypnosis is not sleep. You can hear all the sounds around you during trance, as you are neither unconscious nor asleep. Hypnosis can not make you murder anyone. Ask any mob boss or CIA agent, and you will hear how money works best as an inducement to criminal behavior. Hypnosis is not mind control. Ask the armed forces if they use it to interrogate prisoners, and their answer will be no. They do not use it because they can not. No one can force you to do anything, legal or otherwise, in trance. And you can come out of trance at any time by simply choosing to do so. What Hypnosis Is Please understand that the feeling of being an individual is a necessary part of experiencing a human lifetime, and for that experience, we need a conscious mind as well as the spiritually connected subconscious mind. Your conscious mind filters out the interconnectedness of all energy in the universe expressly so you can have your human experience of being an individual. Hypnosis simply sets aside the conscious part of the mind, and accesses the far larger, more powerful subconscious. In other words, set aside the conscious mind with hypnosis, and its filter disengages. This opens up your senses to the spiritual world, and gives you direct access to your guides. So Easy, You Do It with Your Eyes Closed Hypnosis is easier to do than you think. And your guides are happy to talk to you. So what are you waiting for? Meet them today. Oh, and one last note, refrain from asking your guides about money. For some reason, the very idea of money only makes them laugh. Ask them why yourself, if you like. Ask them anything you like. Anything at all. See, they love you. That is their job.
